#22 Auburn at #10 Penn State

Where to watch: ABC 7:30 PM (ET)

The second most captivating matchup of the week features the other team from Alabama, the Auburn Tigers. This week they match up against the tenth-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions in their first road game against a Big-10 opponent in nearly 90-years.

Both teams feature major defensive NFL prospects in the form of Penn State’s  Grad safety Jaquan Brisker, junior linebacker Brandon Smith, and Auburn’s senior corner Roger McCreay and junior linebacker Owen Pappoe. On the offensive side of the ball Penn State’s redshirt-junior offensive tackle Rasheed Walker should be an early day 2 selection in this year’s draft.

However, football headlines usually look at quarterbacks. For Auburn, junior quarterback Bo Nix has not lived up to his five-star billing since coming out of high school. Many are waiting for the quarterback to take that next jump and becoming the Tiger’s best quarterback since Cam Newton led the team to a National Championship win. For Penn State, Senior quarterback Sean Clifford is trying to prove he can lead this team to the college football playoffs, something that has yet to happen for the Nittany Lions.

Both teams will continue to face difficult matchups all season due to the strengths of their respective conferences, but this will be a good first test to see who is legit and who is not.
