At the end of the second quarter: Buffalo 17, Miami 2
Miami is going to need a miracle to fix this one.
The Dolphins receive the second-half kickoff with the hopes of doing literally anything on offense. They pick up a first down off of the back of Myles Gaskin who seems to be a feature in this one. Miami finally figures things out and Tagovailoa follows up a great few runs by Gaskin with a touchdown pass to Mike Gesicki. Miami runs a considerable amount of clock on this drive, giving their defense a much-needed rest, especially since the last drive of the first half didn’t go so well for them.
So you’re saying there’s a chance!
Buffalo is able to pick up a quick first down, until Emmanuel Ogbah, who is having a great game, hits Allen again in the backfield for a sack. Buffalo is able to overcome that, however, with Allen hitting his favorite target, Diggs, for a few double-digit gains erasing that sack pretty quickly. Ogbah gets another sack with Buffalo deep in Miami territory but that still does nothing. Allen hits Singletary out of the backfield for a big touchdown pass as the third quarter comes to a close.
I guess the good thing for this quarter was that the punters didn’t see the field. The bad thing is the Dolphin’s defense seems to have regressed to the form of the offense.
