At the end of the third quarter: Buffalo 23, Miami 9

The fourth quarter opens with Miami taking the ball at the 25-yard line down by double digits. There’s still time, though, if the offense can produce some big chunk plays and move down the field quickly.

Yet, Miami won’t be able to do anything if the offensive line can’t protect Tua, who is sacked again. After a big drop by Jaylen Waddle, Miami is forced to punt, pretty much killing their chances for a comeback. Luckily, Miami’s defense is able to force a quick three and out from Buffalo and gets the ball back with 12 minutes on the clock. As predicted by all of you readers out there, Miami punts after a three and out…

Miami’s defense woke up and forces Buffalo to punt once again. Miami has the ball with 10 minutes left. But the offensive line fails once again and Tua is sacked twice on this drive, once by Gregory Rousseau and the other by Tremaine Edmunds.

Buffalo just needs to run the clock to end this miserable performance. Buffalo takes their time moving down the field, but the Dolphins defense is able to force them to settle for a field goal, which increases their lead to a pretty insurmountable number. Miami does nothing with the next kickoff, failing on a 4th down conversion run, giving Buffalo the ball back on Miami’s 40-yard line. Buffalo is able to pick up a few first downs and runs the clock out without putting any more points on the board.

At the end of the fourth quarter: Buffalo 27, Miami 9

This was rough to watch. Miami’s offense could do nothing, which inevitably ruined a great defensive showing. Miami’s offensive line gave up 5 sacks on the day and Tagovailoa put up a measly 72 yards through the air. Allen didn’t have the greatest game either, but the Dolphins were atrocious.

I can’t see the exact same scenario playing out at home. I think Miami will be pumped up to start their new season at home and will do a good job keeping Allen’s weapons under wraps for the majority of the game. Miami should be able to put together a couple of important touchdown drives, which will help them get the much-needed victory.

Prediction: Buffalo 21, Miami 24
