Miami Dolphins: Madden week 3 simulation leans towards another loss
By Nick Belotto
At the end of the third: Miami 14, Las Vegas 26
After a ten-yard penalty to start the fourth, Vegas is able to pick up the exact yardage they need to convert their third-down conversion. It’s Drake, then Waller, then Drake again. It’s honestly like a broken record. The Raiders have the ball on the 3-yard line and Drake takes it in to make this look like another blowout.
Every time there is some progress with this unit, they fail spectacularly. Miami is able to get some great deep balls off to Parker and Fuller right before Crosby shows up in the backfield again for a sack. Brissett gets a few short passes out to Fuller and Gaskin before being hit again by Crosby ending the drive. Miami goes for it on 4th down and unsurprisingly fails the conversion. Vegas has the ball on the 40-yard line.
Miami’s defense decides to finally show up and keeps the Raiders from converting. They settle for a field goal instead but this one is just about over.
Brissett hits Fuller for 25 yards. Then, he hits Parker for 15. Then, he hits Raiders linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski for an interception. Vegas sticks to the running game at this point, but Miami can’t do anything to stop them. The Raiders get into Dolphins territory again before the defense forces them to stall and settle for another field goal.
Miami is able to get some passes off here and there but does nothing at all.
At the end of the fourth: Miami 14, Las Vegas 39
This didn’t go well for the third week in a row in our Madden simulation. Unfortunately, I have a bit of a bad feeling about this matchup in Las Vegas. Even though Miami may have moved a few pieces around on their offensive line, I’m not sure they will be able to keep the offense humming in this one. I think this might be one of the few times I won’t be picking the Dolphins this season.
My prediction: Miami 21, Las Vegas 31
