How about a little love for the big men, huh?

Ryan Kelly is not the most explosive player on the roster and doesn’t put up gaudy numbers seeing that he plays on the offensive line. He’s more than likely not going to score the winning touchdown or get the game-winning field goal through the uprights. All joking aside, however, Kelly is a stud offensive lineman who is coming off a great year that earned him an All-Pro nod in 2020.

Kelly is one of the best centers in the game and is a good blocker in both facets of an offensive game plan. It’s hard for a defensive unit to “shut down” an opposing lineman, but Miami will need to come up with some interesting and creative blitz packages to keep Kelly on his toes and confuse him a bit.

Indianapolis offense has definitely been struggling to start the season and Miami’s defense has been good to start the year. If Brian Flores and company can dial up blitzes at the right time, it could throw Kelly off and he not be able to get his fellow lineman to pick up the right guys. If they’re getting players out of position on the line, Miami’s defensive rushers may be able to disrupt a lot of plays before they even get going.

If the Dolphins can consistently make plays in the backfield, it means they’re doing their job and keep Kelly from making a big (see what I did there?) impact on the offensive gameplan.
