Miami Dolphins fans have endured a lot and this might be the worst

The end of the Adam Gase era back in 2018 was a depressing one. Gase who for years made sure he got rid of any and all players that were good, outspoken, or both got him to another missed playoff season. Fresh off the Miami Miracle, the Dolphins were 7-6 with all the momentum in the world. Then, they headed to play the Vikings. They got their doors blown off swiftly. Miami finished the season 7-9.
But it was the way Gase handled himself at every postgame press conference that was just worst. He would try and bury his eyes and face into his hat and would essentially blame the player for why the team didn’t win. He never took any kind of ownership that perhaps it was his game plan, his approach, his game management that led to a loss. Nope, it was always because the players didn’t execute. Like Flores, Gase’s press conferences were repeats of each other making sure that he hit all the same beats.
It was also a sad ending because it was yet another sad ending to a Dolphin’s regime. We’ve gone through many of those over the years. I didn’t even mention the Philbin debacle. Another rebuild was on the horizon and in 2019, Brian Flores was hired and we convinced ourselves that we finally hired an adult to run things. Sadly, we are in the midst of another probable rebuild of sorts on the horizon.
