This was downright strange but since it’s the Miami Dolphins perhaps it was on-point. Tua was slated to play all week. Yes, we knew that he banged his finger in the second quarter last week against the Bills, but he played through it. He also kept coming up questionable on the injury report.

Then Brian Flores kept saying all week that he expected Tua to start on Sunday. Okay, that sounds pretty good to me that a guy is starting. On Friday, he was still slated to start. On Saturday he was slated to start. Then on Sunday morning, Tua goes out there to warm up and it’s determined that his finger is too swollen and that he can’t get the ball downfield the way they’d like. Yes, I realize the irony there with Tua not being or able to throw the ball more than 15 yards. Then a video of Tua going through warmups after they said he won’t be the starter surfaced and everyone got their tin foil hats on.

I have to admit that when I saw this I also thought something shady behind the scenes was happening. Was Flores doing the ultimate screw you and benching him at the last second or did Ross finally say enough of this guy? Not sure. All I can say is that I’m close to being out on Tua. I realize that his finger looks like a baby Ruth that was thrown in the pool, but this guy never plays. Like eventually, you need to play football to see if you’re good at football. Now all that can change if he comes out on Thursday if he actually starts, and balls out against the Ravens. If that happens, I can see myself getting back on the Tua train again for another week.
