Jevon Holland is proving to be one of the best Miami Dolphins draft picks in recent years. Did Chris Grier finally get this right? After blowing first round picks on Austin Jackson and Noah Igbinoghene, his drafting of Holland in the 2nd round last year is paying spades.

Holland has started almost every game this year and has been making plays on the ball and ball carriers. He has great vision of the field and has settled into his multipurpose role with the team. He is what Minkah Fitzpatrick was supposed to be and wasn’t.

Miami is relying on Holland and showing him that they believe in him. That continues to show each week when he takes the field as the starter alongside of Eric Rowe. If Brandon Jones can take the next step as well, Miami will have a young core in the deep secondary.

The best part of Holland is that he continues to get better each week. Last week he had a critical interception early in the game taking away a potential touchdown from the Texans. Holland hits hard and plays harder and it is easy to see him as the team’s starting safety for years to come.
