Todd Bowles was with the Dolphins and took over the interim head coaching job after Tony Sparano was relieved. He spent time with the Jets as well as a head coach. Four years with the Jets and he managed to win only 24 games and lost 40 but many believe that it wasn’t the fault of Bowles who was handcuffed by bad executive management and poor drafts.

Bowles didn’t have a lot of control over the roster and he wouldn’t have much control in Miami to start but he has continued to build stellar defenses and is primed for a return to the top spot.

Would he come to Miami if Ross asked him to? Maybe, but Bowles was never really given a shot by Ross after that season was over. Instead, Ross went after Jeff Fisher with full force only to get played by Fisher who signed with the Rams. Ross settled for Joe Philbin and that never came close to working out.

Still, I think if given the chance, Bowles wouldn’t turn the job down and he should find his next stop as a head coach a lot easier than the one he endured in New York.
