Josh McDaniels is a name that many Miami Dolphins fans wouldn’t want to even remotely entertain but how much longer will he hang around New England waiting for Bill Belichick to retire? If there is one thing we can say about McDaniel is that he knows how to run an offense.

McDaniel burned out in Denver when his ego got in the way. He came across every bit of an Adam Gase type. In 2018, McDaniel accepted the job to be the head coach of the Colts but then backed out at the last minute. That left a foul taste in a lot of NFL owner’s mouths and everyone believed and still believes that a deal was made between him, Belichick, and owner Bob Kraft to promote McDaniel when Belichick leaves.

Of course, that was in 2018 and we are still watching Belichick coach four years later. At some point, McDaniel is going to have to break up with the Patriots if it continues.

Miami would be a good landing spot for him. He would have a young QB to work with and can build the offense to tailor his style of coaching. He could also bring in quality offensive and defensive assistants. Still, McDaniels may get some chatter but he would be a long shot to become the Dolphins next guy and frankly, I think it would be a mistake.
