Tua Tagovailoa

What would a discussion about players with something to prove be without Tua Tagovailoa?

Like the other two players on this list, the entire 2021 season was supposed to be a prove it year for the second-year quarterback. But the injury bug that has plagued Tagovailoa for the last few years has reared its ugly head once again, and fans are still unsure of exactly what they have in him.

Sunday’s game against the Jets will hopefully be a nice starting point. Tagovailoa is listed as questionable at the time of writing, still bothered by the fractured finger that kept him from starting the last couple of contests. Should he be healed enough to suit up and throw the long ball, then he’d better make the most of his opportunity against a sub-par New York secondary.

If the Dolphins want to save face this season and put themselves at least in the mix after the next four games, then a successful game against the Jets this week is a necessity. They’ll play again in Miami in just three weeks, and the Dolphins can set the tone with a win on Sunday.
