The 5 worst Miami Dolphins contract on the 2021 roster
By Brian Miller
DeVante Parker has the athleticism to be great but we have been saying that since he was drafted. The only thing that DeVante Parker has been consistent with his being injured and on the inactive list.
When he is healthy, he is still too inconsistent to be relied upon. He can have a game changing day or simply float around in the background. Apparently, only the Dolphins fans realize that his value to the team isn’t very much.
It was rumored that the Dolphins were offered something for Parker ahead of this year’s trade deadline. Maybe they should have taken it.
Parker will make $12.1 million this year and has not performed remotely close to that number. As NFL salaries continue to rise by position, $12.1 a year will someday seem like a bargain but in 2021, you would expect to get something for that kind of money.
Miami has been rewarded for their investment in Parker with five games played, 25 receptions, and 327 yards. So glad he added a touchdown.
Fear not Fin Fans, Parker is under contract for the next two seasons as well. Next year he will only make $8.9 million and before you go thinking they can release him, he will count over $5 million in dead money.
We consider this, sarcastically, money well spent.
