I’m sure there are some numbers out there that calculate the teams that run the best up-tempo offenses. My guess is that you have to pay for such services like this is Amsterdam. I would imagine that the Dolphins are high on the list of teams that when they run a true up-tempo hurry-up offense, they succeed. At least, that’s what it feels like.

The first drive of every game, where the Dolphins have the greatest scripted plays out of anybody, is a fast-paced up-tempo drive. The Dolphins typically score on their first drive leaving all of us to say “why don’t you script the whole game?” As preposterous as that request is, we still say it.

The point is, when the Dolphins play fast on offense, good things seem to happen. Tua looks more comfortable and the offensive line, which is still awful, has a chance to block against guys who are more tired than them.

I understand it might not be feasible to run up-tempo the entire game due to the possibility of not giving the defense, the unit on the field that is carrying the team, much chance to catch their breath. But, I still would like to see more of it throughout the game.
