Congrats to the offensive line playing better. It quite possibly was the best effort as a unit they have put forth the entire season. Liam Eichenberg had a very solid game, Myles Gaskin had 89 yards rushing, and Tua wasn’t sacked once.

Now, a big reason why Tua wasn’t sacked is that he’s a wizard with his pocket presence and gets the ball out of his hands quickly. There were many times that Austin Jackson or Jesse Davis completely whiffed on their guy, as they are prone to do, and Tua climbed the pocket instantly and got the ball away.

I so wish that Flores would try someone else on the line besides Davis. Put Big Bob Hunt at tackle or maybe give Robert Jones some run. Anything but Jesse Davis because we know it’s going to happen, again, where he doesn’t get a finger on a guy and Tua isn’t going to step up and not get crushed. You know, like what happened against Buffalo. Maybe if Deiter comes back they’ll arrange something else, but this current unit isn’t it.

This offense is trending in the right direction and if they keep winning, I bet guys like Parker and perhaps even Fuller will feel a lot better and come back and play. It would be a shame if it ends up being all for not because the coaches didn’t try something different with the offensive line.
