Xavien Howard restructured his contract, again, about a week ago. The move freed up around $3.5 million in cap space that the Dolphins will use to operate the rest of they year. The move also gives him more money in his contract so any fear of Howard leaving after the season is remote at best.

The Dolphins are highly invested in Howard and while he could still be sent packing down the road, it likely won’t be until after the 2022 season at the earliest so in this case, buying a Howard jersey makes sense and chances are, he will be around a little bit longer that.

Typically a defensive lineman isn’t a player you think about when you decide to buy a jersey but you really can’t go wrong with two of the three top DTs on the Dolphins roster. Christian Wilkins will be a free agent after the 2022 season but the Dolphins will likely pick up the 5th year option and he being extended makes sense. He is a safe bet for another two to three years.

Raekwon Davis is another rising star on the Dolphins defense and he is only in his 2nd year of his rookie deal so there is still a couple more years before you need to worry about him leaving and that doesn’t appear to be something that is likely. As for the number 3 DT, Zach Sieler, well it might be good to wait but if you like him, get it! Sieler isn’t going anywhere and the Dolphins are trying to get him more involved.
