Miami Dolphins: First-round talent falls late in 2022 mock
By Pablo Rosero
This is the first edition of these 2022 NFL mock drafts where Michigan State running back and Heisman possible Kenneth Walker III isn’t the pick. The reason is essentially in the title. Utah linebacker Devin Llyod was the 22nd ranked player on the board, that type of value at 41 is a bit absurd.
It’s easy to see why Lloyd ranks as the 22nd best player in the entire class. He’s big (6’3”- 235lbs), strong, and plays as fast as a running back. He’s a Brian Flores linebacker and would slot in perfectly next to Jerome Baker.
Lloyd, who plays the MIKE or middle linebacker spot, just makes plays when he’s on the football field for the Utes. On the season, Lloyd has 58 tackles, 7 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and has proven he can cover with his 3 interceptions.
The Dolphins defense has picked it up the last few weeks thanks to the emergence of the rookies and the cornerbacks proving their massive price tag. There isn’t much that the Dolphins need to add when they are clicking on all cylinders.
Adding a player like Lloyd isn’t as important as adding a running back should be, but this class features some solid running backs past Walker that the Dolphins could look at in the subsequent round.
