The call for offensive line help has been heard and in this edition of the Dolphins mock draft, there is an answer to the call, at least one answer to a call of multiple positions. With their first-round pick, acquired from the San Francisco 49ers, the Dolphins take Ikem Ekwonu out of NC State.

Ekwonu is a massive human being coming in at 6-foot-4 320-pounds. The offensive lineman out of Charlotte played both guard and offensive tackle for the Wolfpack, earning second-team All-ACC Honors at both positions.

With the uncertainties at both right tackle and left tackle for the Dolphins, it’s clear that Ekwonu would be albeit o come in and take either of those spots or even play guard if they are able to sign good free agents at the positions.

The Austin Jackson experiment has landed him inside playing guard when he was expected to play tackle, and now, rather than drafting for traits, the Dolphins would select a player who has dominated in his career at NC State.

I doubt that if the Dolphins do choose to go offensive lineman here that he would be the only one. The Dolphins are likely to add at the offensive line with multiple draft picks, as well as in free agency.
