Pick Analysis. Michigan State. 48. player. Scouting Report. RB. Kenneth Walker III. 805

The Dolphins would be wise to trade back into the second round of the draft to land one of Kenneth Walker III, Texas A&M’s running back Isaiah Spiller, or Iowa State running back Breece Hall. In this mock, the trade back lands Walker III, the Michigan State work horseback.

During the 2021 season, Walker has put together the best season of his collegiate career in his first year with the Spartans as they will be playing in the Peach Bowl against Pitt. In 2021, Walker not only had more rushing yards (1,636) than he did in his first two years at Wake Forest (1,158), but he also had more total touchdowns with 19 in 2021 compared to 17 during his time with Wake Forest.

Walker, whose trophy case was filled this past season, is also likely to be considered the top running back prospect in the draft if he does end up declaring. However, the race for the best will come down between him, Spiller, and Hall, each boasting their own impressive resumes and achievements.

For the Dolphins, the team’s lack of a run game continues to hurt them. After a terrible start to the season, the team is now using the run game more in an attempt to run the clock and make the passing game easier for Tagovailoa and the offense.

After failing to sign Aaron Jones or drafting a running back in either the 2020 or 2021 draft classes, the Dolphins must learn from their mistakes and take a game-changer at the position.
