Miami Dolphins fans would love to see running back be the priority but in truth, the Dolphins really haven’t put the same value on the position as other teams. The Dolphins are fine with Myles Gaskin and a trove of castoffs from other teams to serve as a backup. Do they see Phillip Lindsay as a longer term answer? Maybe but they will need to decide that later.

What I don’t see the Dolphins doing this offseason is throwing money at the position in free agency so don’t expect a big contract offer to an Aaron Jones type. It won’t happen. More likely, the Dolphins will look for value on the market. A 3rd tier runner who is far less expensive.

Miami may look to the draft but fans hoping to hear a name called in the first round or even in the second will be once again heartbroken. It isn’t a priority for Chris Grier. Not as much as it is for the Dolphins fans.

There has been speculation that the Dolphins could try and trade for James Robinson from the Jaguars. Robinson would be a great addition and the Jaguars future is Travis Etienne. While Robinson is relatively cheap and young, the price to obtain him likely won’t be cheap and as a result, it would be shocking if Miami spent resources.

Prediction: Third tier running back and a mid to late round draft pick
