The Miami Dolphins offensive line has been atrocious most of the season and that can be a result of poor performance or poor coaching. In all likelihood, it is a combination of both.

Last year Dolphins fans wanted to see one of the top college centers drafted. The Dolphins passed. In free agency, the hope was to add some of the top free agent linemen. The Dolphins opted to play it cheap.

When the draft rolled around, they traded up for Liam Eichenberg instead of staying put and drafting one of the centers.

Miami’s offense can’t effectively operate without an offensive line that can be dominant. After two seasons we know there is still a lot of work to be done and this is one area where Chris Grier has failed so far. Michael Dieter is working, Robert Hunt is working, but there are so many questions regarding Solomon Kindley, Eichenberg, and Austin Jackson to say nothing of Jesse Davis.

Miami has to approach this off-season much different. They need to step out of their comfort zone and sign quality free agents with a proven record. The question is will they?

Prediction: One top guard/tackle in free agency and a prospect in round three of the draft.
