The Miami Dolphins defense has been electric the last five weeks but that doesn’t mean Miami can’t improve on that side of the ball. There are needs.

Miami has to look at finding better options a linebacker. The Dolphins linebackers are good but they are not great. They don’t have a game changing line backer and while Jerome Baker continues to grow, he isn’t going to be someone that has his name hanging on the stadium.

Miami doesn’t need to hit free agency this year to find a linebacker. Drafting one would be sufficient. What they need to find is a player that fits into their system well and compliments the defense that Brian Flores is running as well as the players that are surrounding him.

To do that, Grier has to make the right decisions during his scouting and film work. What Miami doesn’t need is more cornerbacks and safeties unless they surprisingly make moves to reduce their current numbers at the position.

Miami doesn’t need a lot on defense. They need help at linebacker, and could probably use another defensive end/defensive tackle. They can find those in the draft and supplement their roster losses cheaply in free agency.

Prediction: Draft a linebacker and sign cheap free agents to supplement any in-house losses.
