NFL round one mock draft: Miami Dolphins go offensive line
By Pablo Rosero
Ben Rothlisberger is expected to hang up his cleats by the end of this season and retire, something that could be highly beneficial for the Steelers as they hit a weird transition period. Yes, this team is still good enough to compete for the playoffs and division, but their offensive line is in terrible shape.
The only issue at pick 16 is that there isn’t an offensive lineman worth taking her. So the team can take another young talented quarterback and go spend the money on an offensive line for their new young backfield.
While there are people who would like to see the Steelers go after Aaron Rodgers, the question becomes who will lineup in front of him and protect him?
Like the team did when Big Ben first was drafted for them, they can trust the defense and build an impressive run game that takes the ball out of Corral’s hands.
Another option the team could do with is to move up and target a player like Tyler Linderbaum to replace Maurkice Pouncy while also attempting to land a quarterback like Gardner Minshew.
The Steelers will have options, but life after Rothlisberger is closer than you would realize.
