After an embarrassing loss to the Houston Texans, the Los Angeles Chargers were the victims of Rex Burkhead running wild on them. The Chargers cannot allow that to happen again if they expect to win Super Bowls while having Justin Herbert on his rookie contract.

Enter DeMarvin Leal from Texas A&M and he will make an impact immediately for an already stacked Chargers defense. Well, the defense is stacked on paper featuring names like Joey Bosa, Derwin James, Chris Harris Jr, and Asante Samuel Jr.

In reality, the Chargers have one of the most stacked rosters in all of football with Herbert, Austin Ekeler, Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and Corey Linsley. However, the team is only 8-and-7 and looking from the outside in the playoff race.

While the team hit on Rashawn Slater in the first round last season, they will need to hit once again, especially since teams now know they can run all over them. Leal should be an easy choice, especially with their issues on the defensive line.

If the Chargers can improve and have a consistently stout defense each week, then the team should be able to compete more closely with their division rivals in the Kansas City Chiefs.
