Scouting Report. WR. Alabama. JamesonWilliams. player. 28. Pick Analysis. 18

The Las Vegas Raiders’ current leading wideout on the season is Hunter Renfrow as the team battles injuries, legal issues, and the midseason firing of John Gruden. Taking Alabama’s Jameson Williams would be a big boost to the team’s current wideout group that is depleted and needs more talent.

As the Raiders continue to wait for Bryan Edwards to take that next step and be the wideout they expect when they drafted him out of South Carolina, the team will need to find an impact wideout that can help Dereck Carr and the Raiders immediately. Williams would be that guy as he has been the opposite of John Metchie for Alabama.

With Metchie out for the College Football Playoffs, Williams will have the chance to build his case as a top wideout in this draft class. He will get a shot to go against Ahmad Gardner, a projected first-round corner in this draft, and Coby Bryant, the winner of the Jim Thorpe award for the top corner in all of college football.

The Raiders will need to figure out their head coach situation, among other things, but giving Carr more dynamic offensive weapons to succeed is a start in the right direction.
