NFL round one mock draft: Miami Dolphins go offensive line
By Pablo Rosero
The third and final pick of the Eagles’ first-rounders is thanks to Carson Wentz and the Indianapolis Colts. After Wentz not only played the expected 75% of snaps on the season for the Colts but also is expected to make the playoffs, the Eagles gained their third first-round pick from Indy instead of a second.
With the Eagles having already taken Iowa’s Tyler Linderbaum and Georgia’s Jordan Davis with their first two picks, effectively finding successors for both Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox respectively, their third pick is fiding the replacement for Brandon Graham. That’s where David Ojabo comes into play.
The Michigan product is the second EDGE rusher to come from the school behind Aidan Hutchinson. The Eagles need another dominant pass rusher as Graham continues to get older and Ryan Kerrigan failed to produce.
Ojabo has been an integral part of Michigan’s surprise team. Now against Georgia, Ojabo will have the chance to prove he belongs.
After making some serious moves last offseason, the Eagles will be able to improve their roster further. Philly will be able to add three key contributors along with three guys who could succeed some of the best players to have played for the Eagles.
