Many people thought the Texans would be the worst team in the NFL, and while they are towards the bottom of the league they do have some hope.
After beating the Los Angeles Chargers in what could be considered a complete team wins, the Texans prove that they could have some pieces to build on. Rookie quarterback Davis Mills has shown flashes with the limited talent surrounding him and could be the Texans quarterback answer following Deshaun Watson.
Speaking of Watson, his situation should become clearer this offseason, both legally and in the NFL. However, he is another piece that can be moved to improve this porous offense.
This team needs a lot and while it has young pieces like Mills, Nico Collins, Brevin Jordan, and an older but still productive Brandin Cooks, Houston must go best available player here in a weak quarterback draft.
With Neal and Hutchinson gone, Thibodeaux, who many consider the top player in this draft, is the easy selection for the Texans. The giant of a human being, 6-foot-5 258 pounds, is an elite defensive end who disrupts offenses with ease and should be an immediate contributor.
The Texans could go in other directions here, but Thibodeaux is the right call. He and Hutchinson will come down to preference for the teams picking at the top.
