Notre Dame. KyleHamilton. Scouting Report. player. 30. Pick Analysis. S. 6

Back with the Jets, the team already drafted Stingley with their first pick in the first round, now they’re back on the clock thanks to the Seattle Seahawks. So let’s take a second to acknowledge how they landed this pick.

In 2020 the Seahawks traded away two first-round picks to land Jamal Adams, a safety whose best skillset is playing linebacker and rushing the quarterback, to help out their secondary. It worked the first season as the team made the playoffs, but in 2021 the team’s defense is among one of the worst in the league, evident with their position in the draft.

Now the Seahawks are at a crossroads, they don’t lack talent but they do lack talent in key areas. Russell Wilson is rumored to be on the trade block, and he won’t be the only quarterback we’ll talk about being there.

So now with the Jets owning this pick, it’s clear who they should take. That’s right, the top safety prospect  in the draft. Notre Dame’s Kyle Hamilton, a real treat of a football player.

Versatility at the safety position is important, and there is very little that Hamilton can’t do on the football field. For the Jet’s he’ll be their version of Earl Thomas and with Stingley already off the board and on their roster, the team could build a special back end with two players considered the top of their positions in this draft and top of the class period.
