Tua’s final chance?

After a strong second half of the season, second-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa went out with a whimper in his team’s biggest game for the second consecutive year. Another off season of evaluations and question marks is imminent for the Dolphins signal caller, after he failed to answer last year’s questions in 2021.

But a strong performance against the Patriots this coming Sunday would certainly help his case for remaining the starter in Miami. Tagovailoa has fared surprisingly well against Bill Belichick-led defenses so far in his young career, and is 2-0 against New England with 4 total touchdowns. There is plenty more tape available on Tagovailoa now than there was in the past, and the old mastermind coach will have a plan to limit him.

A job-solidifying performance would bode well for Tua, but would only leave the fan base with more questions. There is a lot of criticism surrounding him and his ability to win the big game late in the season, and a good portion of Dolphin fans are ready to move on to the next quarterback prospect. No matter which side of the fence you sit on, all eyes will be on Tagovailoa this Sunday.
