Tua Tagovailoa vs Falcons, October 24th

291 yards/4TD/80% completion/4 rushes, 29 yards

This was one of the most entertaining games of the season, thanks largely in part to Tua Tagovailoa and his best statistical performance of the season.

Miami was riding a five game losing streak at the time, and were coming off of a heartbreaking loss against the lowly Jaguars. The Dolphins were back at home and ready to turn things around against a similarly-struggling Atlanta Falcons team. Things started off well, with Tagovailoa’s first touchdown pass giving Miami an early lead, but the Dolphins found themselves down 13 points just a few minutes in to the third quarter.

Enter: Tua.

Tagovailoa threw for three second half touchdowns, rallying the Dolphins from two separate 13-point deficits to take a one-point lead with just over two minutes remaining in the game. In a turning of the tables, it was the Miami defense that let the team down by allowing Atlanta to quickly get in to field goal range and steal the win from the Dolphins.

Losing another game and adding to a pathetic streak of futility rightfully overshadowed Tagovailoa’s impressive performance. His four throwing touchdowns were twice as many as he had in any other game this season, and he was the main reason why Miami even had a chance at all in the contest.
