Emmanuel Ogbah vs. Texans, November 7th

2.5 sacks/4 tackles, 2 for loss/4 QB hits/1 PD

It is generally pretty difficult to make game-changing plays and affect the overall outcome from the defensive tackle position. Most of the more impressive statistical performances come from offensive skill players, or perhaps a defensive back that has multiple interceptions.

But Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Emmanuel Ogbah put up an impressive stat line in a game that set the tone for and started the 7-game winning streak. In their Week 9 game against the Houston Texans, Ogbah recorded a season-high 2.5 sacks, as well as four tackles, including two for losses. He was able to get to and hit the quarterback a total of four times, and had one of his signature batted passes in the second quarter.

If Ogbah is going to point to any game as proof for a solid pay day in the upcoming off season, it should be the one against the Texans. He made a noticeable difference in setting the tone for the defense, and he accumulated most of his statistics during the 3rd and 4th quarter when the Dolphins needed big plays in order to hold on to a slim lead.

His contract will expire at the conclusion of the season, and it remains unknown if Ogbah is going to be back in Miami next year.
