Miami Dolphins: Five college coaches to consider for head coach
By Pablo Rosero
Stephen Ross doesn’t want to take Jim Harbaugh from Michigan, but can we trust that?
In his press conference, Miami Dolphins owner Steven Ross said the team would not target Jim Harbaugh after his 12-win season with the Michigan Wolverines. Ross is a Michigan alumni and does not want to harm his alma mater, but does that really end the pursuit there?
There have been rumblings for some time now that Harbaugh could be looking into a return to the NFL after he was finally able to take his team to the College Football Playoffs. Yes, they got demolished by the Georgia Bulldogs, but the team made a major leap from 2020 to 2021.
Harbaugh also is one of the few coaches on this list that already has NFL experience. Not only does he have NFL experience, but Harbaugh knows a thing or two about taking a young quarterback and a good defense and taking them to the Super Bowl.
Although his San Francisco 49ers fell short of winning the Super Bowl in 2012, what that team was able to do with a young Colin Kapernick was impressive.
If Harbaugh does take over the Dolphins, fans would need to take major note of his staff. In 2012, Greg Roman was a major key in Kaepernick’s development.
This is a development to keep an eye on, but I wouldn’t completely buy into Ross’ press conference.
