Is a return to the NFL possible for Lane Kiffin with the Miami Dolphins head coach spot open?

Could we see Lane Kiffin return to the NFL after his failures with the Oakland, now Las Vegas, Raiders? He’s proven that he can bounce back and he’s done so at Ole Miss.

The Miami Dolphins will need to improve the offense and Kiffin’s offensive philosophy is what he’s known for. This season he’s helped quarterback Matt Corral become a potential first-round prospect for the 2022 NFL Draft thanks to his dynamic offense.

Kiffin has a track record of jumping around and his current NFL record in his lone season was 5-for-15. But now that he’s older and more experienced he should be a better candidate.

In 2021 his Rebels had a 10-win season with its only losses to ranked teams in Auburn, Alabama, and Baylor in the Sugar Bowl. The team averaged 33.7 points per game while playing in the SEC. However, the team averaged 16 points in losses compared to 39 points per win.

It’s uncertain if he will want to make the jump to the NFL after deciding to stay with Ole Miss, there were rumblings that he would take the Miami Hurricanes job if it were offered.

Coaches are prideful, it’s difficult to imagine that Kiffin hasn’t considered a return to the NFL to prove that he can succeed at the highest level.
