The Miami Dolphins will have more cap space than any other team in the NFL and an owner that isn’t afraid to spend it.

When we think of free agency we immediately point our fingers at Chris Grier and his inability to find players that can stick around. In 2020 it was Kyle Van Noy who got the big contract and then the boot after one season but was that Grier or Flores? We tend to blame Grier but there was a lot more to this internal strife than we knew.

I suppose that after this offseason we will get a better idea of how the Dolphins attack or don’t attack the market. If Grier opts to stay cheap on the offensive line, we can easily ascertain that Grier is a big reason that the FA’s have failed the last few years.

A new HC is going to come with a different knowledge of the players on the market. Maybe they played against them or maybe they have coached them, like Flores and Van Noy. That marriage didn’t work out at all.

Regardless, walking into a lot of cap space and an owner willing to spend it, is very enticing.
