The Miami Dolphins may have given up a draft pick in round one to move up for Jaylen Waddle but they still have a plethora draft picks.

Miami will have the 49ers first round pick in 2022’s draft but in 2023 they will have the 49ers and their own first round pick. If a new HC gives Tua one year and then decides he isn’t it, Miami will have some firepower to move up to get the QB they want.

Draft capital is a huge draw because most coaches view the draft as the best way to quickly build an NFL roster. Miami has 8 draft picks heading into the offseason with two coming in the 4th round. They could add more if Xavien Howard is traded as we mentioned earlier.

Miami’s own draft pick was moved to the Eagles to land Jaylen Waddle but the gap between that pick and the 49ers pick may not be all that much when the postseason ends. Currently the Dolphins sit at 22 (49ers pick).

The next HC is going to have some say in who is drafted and there has been a lot of rumors that Grier tends to favor the head coach when they can’t agree on who to draft. That is a draw as well.
