The decision to include Thomas Brown in their search is a bit surprising. Not much is known about the coach in Dolphins fans circles. He has done a good job with the Rams and his runners will be on display tonight against the Cardinals but is he really a head coaching candidate?

This may be more of a due diligence type of interview but something tells me this could also be an interview to feel out a potential job as an OC for another coaching candidate disguised as an HC interview. Is it possible? I suppose but with all the other coaches on this list far more ready to make a jump, his name stands out as, shall we say, odd.

Making his name slightly more confusing, according to a running tab on HC vacancies and teams interests, the Dolphins are the only team showing interest in Brown.

What does make Brown intriguing is that he could follow in the footsteps of Zac Taylor, Matt LaFleur and Brandon Staley, all members of Rams coach Sean McVay. Brown has been the team’s assistant head coach this season and joined McVay in 2020.
