Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones

The Miami Dolphins targeted Aaron Jones during free agency last offseason and they seemed to have been a finalist for the running back before he eventually returned to Green Bay, but could he be a trade piece for them this upcoming offseason?

Jones started off the season strong for the Packers with a four-touchdown day against the Detriot Lions but was only able to rush for over 100 yards once all season. He split touches with second-year back AJ Dillion, who could be the future of the Packers backfield.

The Packers face an uncertain offseason with Aaron Rodgers future is up in the air, with Rodgers could go Adams leaving Jordan Love as the team’s starter. That could mean a complete revamping for the Packers which would mean attempting to give him more weapons if Adams leaves as well.

Moving on from Jones would likely give them a few day 2 or 3 picks, but it would likely not make sense to move on from a back that could make life easy for a young quarterback. Unless the Packers feel Dillion can be their lead back, there is little doubt that Jones will actually be moved but it’s an interesting situation to monitor.
