Miami Dolphins: Free agent offensive lineman to target
By Pablo Rosero
If it weren’t for Davante Adams supposedly hitting free agency, then New Orleans Saints left tackle Terron Armstead would likely be the best free agent in this year’s class. Armstead is one of the league’s best offensive tackles and will be paid as such.
The former Arkansas Pine-Bluff, Armstead had one of the best combines of any offensive tackles in the history of the event. Not only did he come in at 6-foot-5, 306 pounds, but he also ran a 4.71 40-yard dash. This sent his stock flying into the third round where he’d be taken by this Saints.
Armstead has been a starter for the team since 2014 and has not looked back since then. With the Saints, Armstead has been a Pro Bowler three times from 2018 through 2020 which included being named a Second-team All-Pro in 2018.
Armstead had another solid season in 2021 with the Saints but played in only 8 games while dealing with a knee injury all season. In 468 snaps Armstead allowed only 1 sack and had 3 penalties.
While he is set to have knee surgery this offseason, it should not hurt his value in the open market and singing a massive deal. The Miami Dolphins should be keeping an eye on Armstead and make an offer if he hits the market.
