Miami Dolphins: Free agent offensive lineman to target
By Pablo Rosero
After being drafted in the third round in 2018 by the Baltimore Ravens after one of the worst NFL combine performances ever, Orlando Brown Jr was one of the best right tackles in all of football. The issue? He wanted to play left tackle.
The Ravens would trade Brown to the Kansas City Chiefs where he would move into their tackle slot for former first overall selection and long-time Chief Eric Fisher. Brown is now scheduled to hit free agency this offseason and will be paid tremendously.
The Chiefs completed revamped their offensive line this offseason and it should be a roadmap to what the Miami Dolphins do this offseason. Not only is the team anchored by rookie center Creed Humphrey, but they also have Trey Smith in their right guard and Joe Thuney with Andrew Wylie as the only returning Chiefs’ offensive lineman on the team.
With the Chiefs this year Brown played 1127 snaps allowing just 4 sacks and being the cause of 7 penalties. He was part of an offensive line that was ranked in the top five of PFF’s final offensive line rankings.
The Dolphins are in need of a complete revamp and Brown could be the centerpiece of that revamp.
