Miami Dolphins: Free agent offensive lineman to target
By Pablo Rosero
On the season the Miami Dolphins played with multiple different centers due to Michael Dieter suffering an injury early in the year. He would come back, but that didn’t exactly make the offensive line play much better.
The Dolphins could benefit from adding a new center. The Tennesee Titans’ Ben Jones would be a welcomed addition to this current roster.
The Titans’ offensive line usually gets the added benefit of having Derrick Henry in the backfield, a player that feeds off yards after contact, but the team’s lineman do a good job of clearing lanes for him. Jones had a run-blocking grade of 81.5 on the season even when Henry didn’t play the last half of the season. His pass-block grade was lower at 64.8, but he only allowed one sack on the season with 5 penalties after playing 1160 snaps.
The Dolphins need to upgrade their run block after averaging under 4 yards per carry on the season as a team. But the team will also need to give Tagoaviloa the protection he needs to throw downfield.
Jones would be a solid center addition and would likely not be the priciest center on the market, that title might go to the next player on this list.
