Los Angeles Chargers:

Another AFC West team that could come calling for the services of DeVante Parker is the Los Angeles Chargers.

Mike Williams had himself quite the season in 2021. He put up career-high numbers in catches, yards, and touchdowns, but he becomes a free agent this off season and will have plenty of suitors willing to pay. He was second on the team in targets behind Keenan Allen, coming in with a whopping 80 target lead over the next wide receiver. The Chargers will assuredly be on the pursuit of someone who can fill Williams’ shoes from a usage standpoint, and Parker could be a legitimate option. DeVante hasn’t been considered anything but a WR1 for the Dolphins in some time, and he would likely thrive as the number two guy behind Allen.

The problem would be the money. Despite having just two wideouts signed to their active roster, Los Angeles still has the 13th most expensive wide receiver room in the league. Allen’s gaudy contract could in theory force the Chargers to spend wisely at the position, but pinching pennies on offensive weapons while Justin Herbert is still on his rookie contract could be franchise suicide.

I just realized how much worse it would be seeing DeVante Parker catch touchdowns from Herbert than it would be seeing him catch them from Mac Jones. Let’s hope neither of these happen.
