Miami Dolphins find a workhorse with Kenneth Walker III

Scouting Report. RB. Kenneth Walker III. 50. Pick Analysis. Michigan State. player. 59

Behind fixing the offensive line the Miami Dolphins are in dire need of an upgrade at the running back position. Drafting Michigan State’s Kenneth Walker III would give the team an immediate upgrade and the top running back in the draft.

The Dolphins’ have not had an impact running back since the team had Reggie Bush or Jay Ajayi on the roster. The team tried depending on a running back rotation of Myles Gaskin, Salvon Ahmed, Phillip Lindsey, Malcolm Brown, and Duke Johnson.

The team’s run game did improve once Lindsey and Johnson were on the team, but not enough to declare either a starting back moving forward. Walker would give the team a workhorse back that can work with either of those other backs on the roster.

In his lone season with the Spartans, Walker rushed for over 1,600 yards and scored 18 rushing touchdowns. The running back finished second in the country in rush yards on the season.

Walker’s upside is something the Dolphins cannot deny, especially with the gaping need at the position. Miami must not find themselves heading into another season without an elite running back or a player that the team can consider a workhorse.
