Miami Dolphins hope to find their center of the future in Dohnovan West

Having not yet addressed the offensive line, it would make sense to take one somewhere with the Miami Dolphins’ first three picks. Taking the best interior lineman available at this point would be a solid start.

Arizona State center Dohnovan West would give the Dolphins a solid upside pick in the third round. Michael Dieter was the team’s main starter at center on the season, but the team used multiple centers when Dieter went down with an injury.

Dieter wasn’t awful on the season, but the team will need to upgrade at the first chance they get. West isn’t the best center in this draft, that goes to former Iowa center and projected first-round pick Tyler Linderbaum and even Boston College’s Alec Lindstrom is ranked higher.

West is a freak athlete and at 6-foot-4, 300-pounds, he is pretty big for a center. He played 2020 at guard, but he spent 2021 at center. He was named second-team PAC-12 at center.

The Miami Dolphins have a lot of work to do when it comes to the offensive line, they’ll likely need a complete rebuild. The team would be better off looking at free agency to improve the rest and become an instant contender, taking West could give them a young anchor like the Kansas City Chiefs now have with Creed Humphrey.
