3 hallmarks I expect for the Dolphins in a Mike McDaniel themed offense

All I’m saying with this is a guy like Jaylen Waddle, who has blinding speed, who is terror in space with the ball in his hands will not be, solely, used like he’s Jarvis Landry. His skills and talents will be on full display in creative ways.

Now this doesn’t mean that Waddle will be lined up in the backfield taking inside handoffs as Deebo Samuel did. That would be stupid and Mike McD doesn’t make stupid, obvious mistakes like that. I would expect to see Waddle lined up in the backfield but to create mismatches and to get him out on passes on the perimeter. If Lynn Bowden Jr, makes the club, I expect him to be in the backfield at times as well.

Mike Gesicki, if Mike McDaniel believes he can truly use him, not like a George Kittle clone because Gesicki isn’t built like that, he also will be used like he should be. No reason why he can’t go down the seams past the linebackers using that 6’6 frame that can jump out of Hard Rock Stadium.

Whatever other players that get brought in will have a purpose and won’t be placed on the shelve never to be really used. That’s been a hallmark of the Dolphin’s offense for 20 years. Mike McD isn’t going to waste a player’s talent and do something else just because that player’s talent goes against his system. Instead, he’s going to shape his offense to utilize the player’s skills. I’m very much excited to see that in motion.
