Miami Dolphins: 3 reasons Mike McDaniel can fix Tua Tagovailoa
By Jeremy Klump
1. Coaching
Not to keep bashing Brian Flores, but I think we can all agree he did not help coach Tua Tagovailoa to the fullest. I believe there is a lot of growth for Tagovailoa, but he really needs to be coached.
I think a lot of Tagovailoa’s mistakes throwing the football are coachable. I do not think some of his limitations are coachable, but I think if Tagovailoa can be coached up, he can be a lot better.
Again, I am not making excuses for what Tagovailoa has done. He has played badly on his own, it is his fault too, but I think it will be fair to see what he can do with a coach who will coach. Tagovailoa also needs to be willing to be coached, too; it is not just about McDaniel.
The title is head coach, Mike McDaniel said it himself, and he is hyped up to coach players that needed to be coached.
Tua Tagovailoa needs to be coached, and I think there is a chance that with McDaniel’s coaching, he could be fixed and help the Miami Dolphins win football games.
However, just because Miami hired McDaniel does not magically mean Tagovailoa will be better. I am still not a believer that Tagovailoa can be an elite quarterback or that he will be the franchise quarterback for the Dolphins.
Tagovailoa needs to improve drastically in year 3, and if he is unable to show significant improvements, Miami needs to move on from him without hesitation.
