Miami Dolphins: Ideal Mike McDaniel off-season plan
By Pablo Rosero
Kenneth Walker III would give the Miami Dolphins a workhorse running back
The reality is that at the current moment Michigan State running back Kenneth Walker III is the best running back in this draft class. He’s not Jonathan Taylor or Najee Harris, but Walker is exactly what the Miami Dolphins need.
In his lone season at Michigan State, Walker exploded onto the season being one of the top rushers in the country both yardage-wise and touchdown-wise. The 5-foot-10 running back is built to run through or around defenders and should continue that in the NFL.
If you’ve followed my mock drafts and coverage during the season, you’d know Walker is one of my “guys” in the draft. Some of those previous “guys” have included Taylor, Antonio Winfield Jr, and Creed Humphrey.
I’m not implying that I have an eye for future NFL stars, but rather I’m saying that sometimes the obvious isn’t worth overthinking and is sometimes just obvious.
The Dolphins must take a running back in order to give McDaniel the solid run game he seems to push. While the 49ers had a history of rotating running back, this team would be better off finding a guy that can be above average and be the team’s workhorse from day one.
