John Metchie could instantly improve the Miami Dolphins’ wideout room

With the trade of Parker, the Miami Dolphins will have a hole at wide receiver that will need to be filled either in the draft or free agency. The best option would be to use that pick acquired in the Parker deal and either move up or stay put and take another Alabama wideout.

Taking John Metchie III would be a massive upside pick if he can return to top form from his ACL injury. The hole at wideout allows the team to take a shot on a player with high upside as well.

Metchie, who tore his ACL against Auburn, was one of the top projected wideouts in this years class. Although he is expected to make a full recovery, other names lept him due to strong finishes.

The goal with taking Metchie would be to have a duo of him and Waddle replicate what McDaniel was able to do with Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel. Adding Gesicki on top of that would give the Dolphins three dynamic playmakers and a young version of that 49ers’ offense.

Assuming Metchie recovers and is able to play next season, the Dolphins could have a scare wide receiver duo, that could also be turned into a trio.
