Miami Dolphins need Emmanuel Ogbah for EDGE position

After Gesicki, the Miami Dolphins will then need to resign EDGE rusher Emmanuel Ogbah to a deal to bring him back to the team. Ogbah was the Dolphins leading sacker with 8.5 sacks on the season.

Ogbah has been the team’s best EDGE rusher the past two seasons and will likely be the team’s best option at the position outside of the draft. Every elite defense has an elite pass rusher and multiple other pass rush options.

The team will hold out hope that Phillips can take that next step and become the elite pass rusher they will need, but Ogbah is the best complement. Outside of Phillips, the team currently doesn’t have any impact EDGE rusher on the roster.

Letting Ogbah walk would be similar to letting go of Kyle Van Noy. Ogbah means too much to the team in the locker room and the defense on the field.

Ogbah needs to a priority for the team and they cannot let him hit the open market. The Dolphins will likely need to add another impact EDGE rusher on the roster and should be able to find him in the first round of the draft. But their attention should have on clear focus in free agency.
