Baltimore Ravens take Georgia LB Nakobe Dean 14th overall

Scouting Report. LB. NakobeDean. player. 26. Pick Analysis. Georgia. 14

The Baltimore Ravens were in a similar situation as the Browns but much worse. Prior to the start of the season, the team lost running backs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, linebacker LJ Fort, and cornerback Marcus Peters to injury.

Then during the season the team lost quarterback Lamar Jackson to an ankle injury at the end of the year, cornerback Marlon Humphrey, and left tackle Ronnie Stanely.

Prior to losing Jackson to the ankle injury, it seemed as though the team would walk into the playoffs despite all their injuries. Coach John Harbaugh was doing a great job with a weakened roster and their 2022 team could contend immediately.

The selection of Georgia linebacker Nakobe Dean is a massive luxury for the team. Pairing the athletic linebacker with former first-round pick Patrick Queen, another extremely athletic linebacker, could give them their best linebacker duo since Terrell Suggs and Ray Lewis, although there is no guarantee they’ll be that good.

The Ravens could shock everyone and be in the Super Bowl in 2022 if they can come back fully healthy and Jackson continues to improve. But for now, adding Dean would be a solid addition to a defense that will have a new coordinator for the first time in three years.
