Los Angeles Chargers beef up with Georgia DT Jordan Davis at 18
After being just 38 seconds away from making the playoffs, the Los Angles Chargers were once again out of the race at the end of the regular season. The Chargers season was ended due to a long run down the middle by Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs, meaning they could use an upgrade at the defensive tackle position.
With that in mind, they can bring in the Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Davis. The 6-foot-6, 340-pound defensive lineman didn’t have eye-popping stats in 2021, he had 2 sacks and 32 total tackles, but he was one of the most important players in Georgia’s run to a National Championship win.
Whether he was distributing offenses or taking on two blockers at once, Davis’ impact went past the stat sheet. On occasions, you’d even see him taking on three blockers at a time.
The Chargers do not have a whole lot of other holes on their roster and they have one of the game’s best young quarterbacks in Justin Herbert. Adding Davis will shore up the defensive front and give them a player that should eat up blocks opening the lane for a guy like defensive end Joey Bosa to continue to dominate.
