Raiders add dynamic Alabama WR Jameson Williams at 22
The Las Vegas Raiders are heading into 2022 with a new general manager, Dave Ziegler, and a new head coach in Josh McDaniels. Their 2021 season was a roller coaster that featured the firing of head coach Jon Gruden due to a league investigation, a few arrests, and the team dealing with COVID and injuries.
It was a miracle that this team made the playoffs, and, had it not been for a missed call, the Raiders could’ve beaten the Bengals. The team was considered one of the better landing spots for a coach and they ended up choosing another offensive coach.
Their desire to continue to improve the offense was proven when it was reported that the team was set to re-sign Derek Carr to a long-term extension. Now with wide receiver Henry Ruggs off the roster, the Raiders are in need of a big playmaker at the position.
The Raiders could opt to replace one former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver with another with Jameson Williams. Williams tore his ACL in the National Championship but is expected to be fully healthy with no damage to his game.
Williams would join a group that already features Hunter Renfrow, Bryan Edwards, and Darren Waller. The Raiders have holes on defense, but their offense is what they’ll rely on.
